Barry C. - Director

Barry has now lived in Chapel Amble for the last 34 years, he still runs the village post office today - a true local! Originally from London, which is where he qualified in & worked as a book keeper. In 1990 Barry spent his spare time working  behind the bar in St. Kew Inn. Moving on from there he began to work here at The Maltsters Arms in 2004, he subsequently bought the pub from the owner in 2012. As the managing director & main shareholder he is no longer hands on behind the bar however he is in sole control of the administrative side of the business.

Graeme B. - Head chef

Although born in South Africa, Graeme has been working in & enjoying England since 2002. After spending time in London, Brighton, Kent & Manchester, he finally arrived in Cornwall for a holiday in 2009 & has not left since. His career spans with a variety of catering disciplines from 5 star hotels & event catering to restaurants & pubs. After working for a few years with the previous owner he joined together with Barry and Dean to keep The Maltsters Arms a family & friendly place for all to enjoy. Graeme now currently lives in Wadebridge with his wife Rebecca & dog Mollie.

Dean M. - Head Chef

Originally from Leicester and moving to Cornwall 30 years ago, Dean has been involved in the catering industry for the last 26 years, having trained in places such as Bromsgrove and the Isles of Scilly. After heading several restaurants and hotels in the Newquay area he moved to Wadebridge in 2006 and took up the head chef position at the Maltsters. Along with Graeme and Barry he continues to provide a service on which the Maltsters has built.

Amber M. - Front of house Manager

Amber has been part of The Maltsters team for five years now and loves the atmosphere of working in a friendly rural pub, from the locals to the lovely new visitors both from Cornwall and far afield. She finds nothing more satisfying than being able to help a weary walker from their busy holiday travels and seeing smiles on the faces of customers enjoying the atmosphere and food offered at The Maltsters Arms. Amber grew up in the nearby town of Wadebridge and has also lived in the Channel Islands for 6 years, she has been back in Cornwall since 2005. In Amber's spare time she enjoys catching up with friends and family but her greatest passion, out of work activity, is helping run the local Shotokan Karate club in Wadebridge which she has been doing since 2004. Top tip: try the belly pork, it's amazing!
